¿Cómo puedo caminar por mi ciudad, Porto Alegre (BR) sin miedo? ¿Cuáles son las formas de abordar visualmente un sentimiento, una sensación, algo intangible? Cuando me encontré con estas preguntas, comencé a buscar en Google Maps para comprender los caminos que estaba tomando. A partir de los caminos que tomé, comencé a crear mapas de los caminos, marcando las líneas geográficas que ocupaba el cuerpo.

Los Mapas-Poéticos forman parte del proyecto Até Onde Ela Vai? y son piezas individuales construidas a partir de la experiencia de lo sensible, de las cuales utilicé documentos recopilados durante las caminatas para desarrollarlos. Inicialmente, hice poesía. Después, organicé los informes, extrayendo frases que capturaban la esencia de los viajes. En la computadora compuse imágenes digitales a partir de una mezcla de herramientas y lenguajes. Marqué las rutas en Google Maps, reconstruyendo las rutas ya experimentadas por el cuerpo. Teniendo una imagen base, en Adobe Illustrator, la rendericé y, aprovechando los recursos del programa, dibujé a partir de la imagen en la que borré textos, cambié los pasajes para luego, en Adobe Photoshop, poner las palabras y frases escritas por yo como nombres de calles. Capa a capa, llegué al resultado que une poesía e imagen, dando como resultado Mapas-Poéticos.

How can I walk around my city, Porto Alegre (BR), without fear? What are the ways to visually approach a feeling, a sensation, something intangible? When I came across these questions, I started browsing Google Maps to understand the paths I was taking. From the paths I took, I started to create maps of the paths, marking the geographical lines that the body occupied.

The Mapas-Poéticos are part of the project Até Onde Vai? and they are individual pieces built from the experience of the sensitive, which I used documents collected during the walks to develop them. Initially, I made poetry.I reorganized the reports, extracting phrases that captured the essence of the journeys. On the computer, I composed digital images from a mixture of tools and languages. I marked the routes on Google Maps, reconstructing the routes already experienced by the body. Having a base image, in Adobe Illustrator, I rendered it and, taking advantage of the program’s resources, I drew from the image in which I erased texts, I changed the passages to then, in Adobe Photoshop, put the words and phrases written by me as names of streets. Layer by layer, we arrive at the result that unites poetry and image, resulting in Mapas-Poéticos.
